Insoles for your feet and the way you move

At FIMED we don’t work with a standard insole. We study your footstrike, your needs, the type of footwear you use and your daily or sports activity to determine, first, whether you really need insoles and, if indicated, design them in a personalised way.

The goal can vary in each case: improving comfort, changing load distribution, reducing symptoms or making certain activities easier.

Not everyone needs insoles. That’s why, before designing them, we assess your case individually.

How we do it

Your custom insoles, step by step

01

Initial assessment

We learn about your symptoms, physical activity, previous injuries, type of work, usual footwear and the reason for your visit.

02

Biomechanical study

We analyse your foot, footstrike and movement during walking and, when necessary, also during running.

03

Custom design

If, after the assessment, we consider insoles are indicated, we design a solution adapted to your characteristics and needs.

04

Adaptation and follow-up

We check how you adapt to the insoles and make the necessary adjustments according to your progress and sensations.

Insoles for runners

If you run, your insoles should account for how you run

We assess your footstrike, the footwear you use, your training, your discomfort and your sports goals. When indicated, we design them taking into account the specific features of your sports practice.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need insoles?
Not everyone needs them. Before recommending them we carry out a podiatric and biomechanical assessment considering your symptoms, footstrike, activity, footwear and goals. We only indicate them when we consider they bring a benefit in your case.
Do I need a biomechanical study first?
Yes. To design truly personalised insoles we need to assess beforehand how your foot behaves and how you move. The study lets us decide whether they’re indicated and what features they should have.
How long do custom insoles last?
It depends on the material, the use, your activity and changes over time. We recommend periodic reviews to check their condition and that they keep adapting to your needs.
Can I use the same insoles for running and daily life?
It depends on each case. Sports and everyday footwear have different demands. During the assessment we’ll tell you whether you can use the same ones or need a specific adaptation for sport.
Can insoles help if I have plantar fasciitis?
They can be a useful tool in certain cases of plantar pain or fasciopathy, but they’re not always necessary nor the only treatment. We assess each case and, when needed, combine podiatry with physiotherapy and exercise.
Can children use insoles?
Yes, but not every child with a different footstrike needs them. During growth we assess gait, foot development and symptoms to decide whether to intervene or just follow up.
Do insoles need an adaptation period?
There may be a short adaptation period during the first days. We’ll explain how to introduce them progressively and make any adjustments if discomfort appears.
