Fisiodigestivas

A multidisciplinary team to care for your digestive health from every angle.

Living with bloating, distension, reflux or abdominal pain is not normal, even if it has been normalised. And it is almost never solved by looking at just one piece of the problem. That is why we bring physiotherapy, nutrition, neurology and psychology together around one person: you.

How we work

Digestion doesn’t depend only on what you eat

01

A global assessment, not an isolated symptom

Digestion does not depend only on what you eat. Breathing, the diaphragm, the abdominal wall, the pelvic floor, hormones and the nervous system are all part of the equation.

02

Coordinated work between professionals

Physiotherapy, nutrition, neurology and psychology around the same person, sharing clinical criteria and therapeutic goals.

03

Evidence-based, adapted to you

No strict diets, no quick fixes. Even when the underlying condition is the same, no two approaches are alike.

04

So that you understand your body

The goal is not just to relieve symptoms, but for you to know what is happening and to have the tools to recover your quality of life.

Digestive physiotherapy, women’s health and sports physiotherapy

Director of Clínica FIMED, specialising in digestive physiotherapy, women’s health and sports physiotherapy.

My main area of work is helping people who live with digestive problems such as abdominal distension, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional abdominal pain or pelvic floor disorders, using an approach based on scientific evidence and a global assessment of the body.

Many digestive problems are not solved through diet or medication alone. Breathing, the diaphragm, the abdominal wall, the pelvic floor, movement and the nervous system all play a fundamental role and, through physiotherapy, we can help restore that balance.

Every treatment is fully personalised. My goal is not only to relieve symptoms, but for you to understand what is happening in your body and to have the tools to recover your quality of life and go back to everything your symptoms are limiting right now.

Digestive nutrition, women’s hormonal health and sports nutrition

My work is always based on scientific evidence, but adapted to each person’s reality. For me there are no strict diets or quick fixes, but close support that helps build sustainable habits and improve your relationship with food.

What’s more, we don’t treat isolated diagnoses or symptoms; we treat people, with their habits, worries, goals and circumstances. That is why, even when the underlying condition is the same, no two approaches are alike.

Digestive disorders

Having to live constantly with bloating, abdominal distension, reflux, gas, fatigue, pain or digestive discomfort — plus the worry of always needing a toilet nearby, or feeling limited when making plans because of the possible consequences… is not normal.

Digestive problems greatly affect quality of life, but with an action plan and an individualised nutritional approach it is possible to improve symptoms and recover day-to-day wellbeing, alongside other professionals and teamwork.

And no, it does not all come down to having SIBO or following a low-FODMAP diet. That is why it is essential to listen, understand the context, assess progress and rely, when necessary, on further tests in order to make the best decisions.

Hormonal disorders

Period pain, tiredness, constant fatigue, heavy bleeding, hair loss, brittle nails, insomnia, irregular cycles or brain fog are symptoms that many women normalise. However, they can often indicate that something hormonal needs reviewing.

Understanding the menstrual cycle, knowing each of its phases and learning to identify your body’s signals is the first step to detecting possible imbalances and being able to work on them properly. In that process, nutrition can become a great ally.

Supporting women with hormonal conditions such as hypothyroidism, dysmenorrhea, PCOS or endometriosis is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

The relationship between the brain and the digestive system

We know more and more about the relationship between the brain and the digestive system. Anxiety, sustained stress or living in a constant state of alert are not always the cause of a digestive problem, but they can make it appear, persist or worsen.

My work is to support you through that process. To help you understand what is happening, bring down that state of alert and recover all those tools you already had, but which stress, fear or the pain itself have pushed into the background.

My goal is not to fight your symptoms, but to help your brain stop interpreting a threat when there no longer is one. Because when the brain feels safe again, the body can also start to recover.
